Mining for spiritual and creative gold during the COVID-19

Mining for spiritual and creative gold during the COVID-19

Originally published in 1992, The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity by Julia Cameron has become self-help canon. Her book offers a 12-week self-guided course designed to identify creative blocks, and unlock creative genius.

The COVID-19 crisis has affected everyone across the globe. Many of us have been instructed by our local health authorities to social distance or self-isolate. This can be a lonely time for those new to social isolation, and a trying time to those already isolated such as those with compromised immune systems or socially anxious.

Social distancing is the responsible thing to do. It reduces the spread of contagions, eases the burden on overworked health care workers, and reduces the risk for high-risk groups. You can learn more about flattening the pandemic bell curve here.

In response, Hive Counselling and Consultancy would like to do our part in offering a free online course to encourage social distancing, while disrupting isolation and mining for creative and spiritual gold. This time, although scary, is an opportunity to make friends with ourselves, and each other.

Join us for 14-weeks of self-discovery, social connection and vulnerability. A course link will be sent to all those who register. The scheduled time is 13:00 to 15:00 PDT. Courses begin Wednesday, April 1, 2020 and will be completed by Wednesday, July 1, 2020. There is no obligation or expectation to attend all course events. The Artist's Way is available in many local bookstores, online and as an audiobook. The book can be downloaded free with a free trial of Audible.ca.
